2017 Mini-Tyke Lacrosse Equipment Requirements

BOX LACROSSE  (Hockey or Lacrosse Equipment)

All equipment is mandatory unless marked

(Hockey Equipment works just fine as well in most cases)

Box Sticks:  (Lacrosse) (measured from butt end of stick to top of head)

  • Mini-Tyke: stick can be no less then 34”
    • Can not be fiddle stix or made of plastic
    • Most sticks must be cut, if unsure dont cut them & bring them to practice to be cut
    • Cheap sticks are the best at this age & can be bought at Canadian Tire or Sports Chek

Mouth Guards

  • At this age some kids may fight thme but its the best time to get them started.
  • Please do not stress if your kid refuses to wear it, just keep trying at very session.

Helmet: (Hockey)

  • Helmet & cage must be CSA or NOCSAE approved with a chin strap

Shoulder Pads: (Hockey or Lacrosse)

  • One piece adjustable pad which offers protection for shoulders & arms

Gloves: (Hockey or Lacrosse)

  • Provide hand protection

Rib/Kidney Pads: (Lacrosse) ** If you cant find them its no big deal at all**

  • These are hard to find for their size & in reality their shoulder pads cover the area that needs to be protected
  • Light weight & wrap around to protect the lower back & kidney area

Elbow Pads: (Hockey or Lacrosse)

  • Elbow pads or slash guards provide additional protection.

Knee Pads ** Not mandatory**

  • Provide protection from the concrete floors
  • Soft flat volleyball ones

Athletic supporter & cup or Jill strap

  • Another piece of equipment that kids have a hard time getting use to
  • Please do not stress if your kid refuses to wear it, just keep trying at very session.

Shoes: (Can not be street shoes)

  • Basketball or Court Shoes (must be clean)
